If you want to use a separate audio card you will need to install the card, disable the integrated audio from the BIOS, install the driver for the audio card you are trying to use and select it as the default device by going into the Sounds and audio devices in Control Panel. 1 Check your Driver Normally you would open Control Panel > Sound > Under Playback and Recording tabs, Select and Set Defaults.
If it is not showing under Sound,Video and Game Controllers, p lease go to the link below and install the driver. Once it is enabled, save and exit from the BIOS and check in the Device manager if the Sigmatel driver is showing.Note: The mouse won’t work on this screen,please use the up and down arrow on the keyboard to toggle between the options. Inside the BIOS choose Onboard Devices> Integrated Audio on the left hand side and enable it by pressing the enter key.Restart the system and press F2 on the Dell logo to go into the BIOS.If it is not listed please go into the BIOS and enable it from the BIOS.Also Check in Device manager if Sigmatel is listed under Sound,Video and Game Controller.Click on Start>control Panel>Sounds and audio devices> make sure the correct default device is selected. Check Sound settings in the Control Panel.Perform the following steps if you want to use the integrated audio card:
